The sculpture embodies the idea of Bro. Dr. William Nelson, OSU professor emeritus, chapter advisor, and and past Ohio area director, for a building dedicated to serving its student constituency, normally overlooked on the campus. After a significant struggle, the university relented and made way for the new forum.
The chapter placed the marker, at the activities center for Black American students, called at the Frank Hale Center. It is located in the center's rotunda on the OSU campus, at 12th Av, Columbus, Ohio. Additional honorees recognized two other campus leaders as the start of an annual tribute to fraternal members and school officials who enhance the college experience for its students. A reception was held afterwards, that featured a cake replicate of the obelisk and Pharoah's head cupcakes
