Seven years after Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., was formed, roots were established in Ohio. The first chapter to be chartered in Ohio was Kappa, at Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, on January 13, 1911. The first alumni chapter to be chartered in Ohio was Theta Lambda, Dayton, OH, on December 23, 1921.
Directories of Past Ohio Directors, as listed in the G.O.’s SPHINX magazine are shown below, beginning in 1963. These leaders included: Bros. Charles Nunn, Holloway Sells, Robert Stubblefield, Oliver Sumlin, and Paul Turner. At that time, Ohio offices across the state -- were apportioned by areas, named: Northeast, Northwest, Central, or Ohio West, Southeast and Southwest.
Ohio appears to be officially recognized as a District, in 1988. The first Ohio District Director named was Bro. Danny Boone (Omega Chapter). About the same time, the SPHINX removed district designations from its publications.

As such, no information was available about the college Assistant District Directors employed -- except one ADD, Bro. Nathaniel Young, from the Toledo area. If brothers are interested in reflecting the ADD's from this period, please respond under Comments, as well.
Thank you!!
