It is with esteemed pleasure that I welcome the brotherhood of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. to the Birthplace of the Louisville Slugger, inventor Thomas Edison, famed boxer and activist Muhammad Ali, the first Library open to African-Americans in the South, and our FIRST Alumni chapter, Alpha Lambda.
On behalf of Bro. Cameron Thierry, Midwestern Regional Asst. Vice President and the Midwestern Region Leadership Team, I present this as the “Official Convention Call for the 79th Midwestern Regional Convention, "THE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF ALPHA LAMBDA CHAPTER”

April 11, 1911 is the date that Bro. Richard Hill and Jewel Bro. Eugene Kinckle Jones came to Louisville to establish the first alumni Chapter. It had no name at the time and there was debate as to whether or not an alumni chapter should even be in existence. We all value the decision and forward thinking of the brothers at the time to proceed with the chartering of Alpha Lambda chapter and the brothers of Kentucky want to show ALL of us that the history of Alpha in Kentucky represents the history of Alpha Phi Alpha. This year’s convention will take place at the Louisville Marriott Downtown Hotel from April 7 ~ April 10, 2011.

The Brothers of Alpha Lambda and the Kentucky district are working tirelessly to create a convention you do not want to miss. There will be a continued celebration throughout the entire weekend that must be felt to be appreciated. Furthermore, we will have elections that will shape the leadership structure of the fraternity for years to come and other events that will make this convention one to remember.

The last time Louisville hosted the Midwestern region was in 1998 and the brothers are ready to show you that the time is right to be here again. The question I ask is, are YOU ready to celebrate Alpha History? As the sun sets on this administration, I am asking every brother to register and join us in
THE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION OF ALPHA LAMBDA CHAPTER!
