Dear
Brothers of Ohio,
It is with
great joy that we greet you in the name of Alpha as we embark upon the new year
of 2012. This year has promise and it is up to us, both individually and
collectively, to embrace this new season in our lives and in our dear
fraternity.
As the
District of Ohio’s newly elected District Director and Assistant District
Director, it is our goal to ensure that we have a seamless transition of
leadership. We are excited to announce that we will be assembling a
district-wide transition team to make sure that goal is met.
The
transition team, chaired by incoming District Executive Director Bro. Elder
Larry McCrimager, will be comprised of college and alumni brothers from across
the Ohio. These brothers will guide the transition process and make
recommendations to improve the District at an operational and programmatic
level.
The transition team will be made of four sub-committees that will begin working January 15th to develop ideas and recommendations for improvement and enhancement. Those sub-committees will be:
Financial
& Resource Development – This sub-committee will create ways to generate
new revenue for the District and identify ways to lead us to true financial
sustainability.
Fraternal
Operations – This sub-committee will identify ways to improve the District’s
overall effectiveness from an operational standpoint. More specifically, they
will seek to identify the challenges that exist in conducting the “business” of
Alpha and make recommendations on ways we can operate most efficiently.
Technology
– This sub-committee will determine the technological needs of the District,
focusing on a revamped digital platform (i.e. new website and social media
strategy), and improved communication of information within our Fraternity
(i.e. AlphaNet).
Brotherhood
– This sub-committee will assess ways to increase the bond of brotherhood
across the District and provide recommendations for events and programs that
can help us achieve a greater spirit of Brotherhood.
To be
clear, we already have a strong and stable District here in Ohio. The goal of
the new administration is to enhance the District’s strengths and improve upon
its opportunities of growth and development.
We have a
viable opportunity to be a coveted and well respected District of not only the
Midwestern Region, but of the fraternity at large. With that being said, there
are a number of opportunities for you to be an important part of the new
administration.

District Administration as we endeavor to build and grow Alpha Phi Alpha in
Ohio.
We would
like to thank you for choosing us to lead during this fraternal year. You will
continue to receive updates as we near closer to the official installation of
our administration at the Regional Convention in Minnesota.
